I acted as an American “cultural ambassador” to nearly 100 international business students within a graduate management course. My task was to help these students understand how to adapt to American corporate settings and “code-switch” when moving between cultures. I helped the students coordinate role-playing scenarios to develop specific interpersonal skills, and offered personal coaching both in and out of the classroom. I also designed and maintained an administrative electronic database of student assignments and drafted instructional documentation for future teaching assistants.
In addition to assisting with the basic functions of the Registrar’s Office, I took the lead on two significant projects involving technology and administrative organization:
• Assumed project management for redesign of official website and directed the process with Library Technology Services
• Managed the revision of registration materials, official documents, and University Bulletin
After working with the principals to develop client marketing strategies for Boston area real estate firms, I researched and created press releases with targeted editorial focus for client news coverage. I was also responsible for writing editorial e-blasts, maintaining distribution lists, drafting internal memos, and documenting instructions for future employees.
I provided logistical and research support for the nonprofit Nolkup water decontamination project in Bangladesh. I established contact with Bengali insurance providers and arranged meetings for the principal’s trip to Bangladesh.
I researched client outreach, networking, and advertising opportunities with print and broadcast media outlets. I compiled and maintained media contact lists using MediaMap, Factiva, and CRM database. Additionally, I assisted with press kit assembly and helped coordinate office relocation.
I worked in the Office of Institutional Research during my first year at Brandeis. I was responsible for programming online surveys for circulation to the Brandeis community, compiling data, and creating survey results documentation using SPSS.
